The Asteroids Galaxy Tour’s debut EP Around the Bend is alive with myriad influences spanning the ages. The four-track release pays homage to styles from the ’40s through the ’80s and satisfies like a full album. The Danish sextet has managed to amass grand appeal in an incredibly short time. Around the Bend is full of relaxed beats accompanied by clapping and cowbells that will surely get your head bobbing. Singer Mette Lindberg accompanies the bluesy beat in “The Sun Ain’t Shining No More” with an untraditional voice that rivals Amy Winehouse’s.

Lars Iversen, the mastermind behind AGT, worked diligently to create a pop-infused sound that would have its own unique qualities, before acquiring the vocal genius of Lindberg. If the Bruce Aisher mix of “The Sun Ain’t Shining No More” doesn’t get your ass on the dance floor, check your pulse. If you really enjoy AGT’s jams, and I know you will, the full album Fruit is hitting the streets in April.
